Ferngesteuerte Modellautos / RC Autos
Remote-controlled model cars (RC cars) are true-to-scale, miniaturised replicas of real cars. "RC" stands for Radio Controlled. RC model cars are controlled remotely by radio using a remote control. Model cars are available pre-assembled (RTR or ARTR) or as a kit. If you want to assemble your own RC car, you will need some experience, but the instructions are very good. Maintenance work is required regularly, just like the original, but is easy to carry out yourself.
Electric model cars
The basic structure is always the same. Body, chassis, drive and remote control components. RC cars with electric drive have a motor, a controller, a battery, an on/off switch, a receiver and a steering servo. Shock absorbers and tyres go without saying.
RC car types
A distinction is made between on-road and off-road RC cars. On-road models can only be used on tarmac roads and well-surfaced paths. Off-road RC model cars can be used off-road and drive well on sand and gravel tracks, and of course in the garden.
There are electrically powered RC cars and models with combustion engines. Combustion engines are usually powered by petrol or a mixture of nitromethane and oil. Petrol combustion engines are usually only used in larger models with a scale of 1:6 or 1:5. Smaller model cars are almost exclusively powered by electric motors. The most effective electric motors are known as "brushless" or brushless motors. They work particularly efficiently and are extremely powerful. It makes sense to equip older models with a new brushless motor. We have already put together motor/controller combos for you whose components are optimally matched to each other.
What do I need to consider when buying an RC car?
You have to decide for yourself whether you want to drive on-road or off-road. Once the decision has been made, you can decide on a model size. The most common scales are 1:10 or 1:8. Now all that remains is to decide on the type of drive.
Drive
Either combustion engines or electric drives are used in remote-controlled cars. RC cars with brushless electric motors are just as powerful as models with combustion engines. A distinction must be made between two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models. All-wheel drive cars have very good propulsion and can be used off-road.
Tuning and spare parts
Replacement and tuning parts are available for all our models. As with a real car, parts are subject to wear and tear and need to be replaced. All parts are available individually or as assemblies. A good speed controller (ESC) is the heart of a model drive and ensures sensitive control behaviour, and the handling characteristics can be improved with tuning parts. Harder shock absorbers, faster motors or lighting? Find everything in our RC car accessories.
Special features
Our range includes a series of classic cars. The manufacturer Kyosho has launched a series of old US classics, Chevy models and Dodge models from the 60s and 70s with really beautifully reproduced bodies. A Ford F450 model truck with remote control is an absolute highlight. Old Kyosho buggy and off-road models are currently being reissued and offered again in improved versions.
